“Whispering in the Suburbs” was the first chapter in a story about the ‘centrífugal forces’ that have been working on me     for the past several years.

 Though I’d taken a picture in the center of Tokyo since 2011, the year of the great earthquake disaster,

 I got bored of it and felt like I had no suitable place to be there.  

 I was nearly 60. Besides, the pandemic kept me away from the busy streets.  

 I started taking pictures in rural areas. It’s a journey to the older layer of Japan.
